This is feeling a little surreal but I just found out my novel that was "getting published" as an ebook actually already GOT published on Christmas Eve. They just forgot to tell me it was live! So here it is...It's a full length novel, mystery/adventure set in the 1980s. It's a beach read, but it's a beach read with heart. It would totally make my day if anyone bought it. It's $5.99, or if you want to "borrow" it, it's $1.99. Thanks so much in advance to anyone who cares enough to read it. I'm still kind of in shock here...I was figuring it was coming out in a few weeks...www.readpublishing.com/product… To see the description and peek in the book the site makes you create and account but at least that's free :)

The Small Stuff

2 min read
Recently I finished reading the novel The Road (and seeing the movie of the same title). Normally I wouldn't gravitate to something so scary and negative and I admit the vivid, heart-wrenching post apocalyptic imagery haunted me for weeks and interrupted my sleep...definitely a brilliantly done cautionary tale in both forms but profoundly disturbing...

The thing that amazes me though, is that I don't think I will ever view the world in the same way since The Road: Each blade of green grass, each delicate butterfly or brilliantly raucous crow - even the changeable blue color of the ocean is a breathtaking miracle now. Of course they always have been, but sometimes I could get so caught up in everyday stress I could forget that.

So today taking Summer for an afternoon walk, I truly felt like Julie Andrew's character in the opening scene of The Sound of Music! Yes, the hills ARE alive and I wanted to spin around and sing just watching the intense blue sky through the fall filigree of reds, yellows and oranges clinging to the tree branches. What a gift to be a part of this web of life! May I always have the grace to rejoice in the small stuff...

Stuff...

2 min read
Trying to figure out how the universe works when it comes to turning the stuff we create into a living income. Obviously, first create decent stuff...then get it on a platform where it can sell anywhere in the world...but then, once one has done the first two, how does one separate their stuff from the massive soup of stuff out there? Sometimes I've felt like my stuff is invisible because it's part of such a massive soup of stuff and no one finds it to buy it. Any marketing suggestions from anyone who's had success in this area are most welcome :)

In the meantime, if you're interested, you can listen to samples of my CD (and even purchase) at any of these links:

If you'd like to purchase a digital copy, the album is  available at iTunes at: itunes.apple.com/us/album/moon…

And at Amazon at: www.amazon.com/Moon-Ducky-Albu…

And of course at CD Baby (Hard copy CDs and digital downloads) at: www.cdbaby.com/cd/narrowescape…

I also wrote two short e-books. If you're looking to read a few short, inexpensive stories that will leave you thinking, you can find them here: www.barnesandnoble.com/c/rober…

Many many thanks for checking out my music and stories if you have an extra minute. (If you like them, tell your friends :D) Maybe if we create a community of creative people that supports one another, we can all have success.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day!

After encountering every possible (and I mean EVERY possible) hurdle, glitch, problem and malfunction anyone could possibly run into during the process getting a CD manufactured (including having large sections of the songs mysteriously missing the first shipment and needing to have them redone)...The CDs are finally here.

Honestly after all the trouble and stress I'm kind of numb about it but I did play one through and all seems fine now.

I guess this means I have a big box of CDs to sell now. Want one? Any sales incredibly much appreciated and this is all music that Jim and I wrote, so it's very close to my heart...

No pressure of course...but...if you want:

You can buy our CD online from CD Baby at: www.cdbaby.com/cd/narrowescape…

If you'd like to purchase a digital copy, the album is  available at iTunes at: itunes.apple.com/us/album/moon…

And at Amazon at: www.amazon.com/Moon-Ducky-Albu…

And of course at CD Baby at: www.cdbaby.com/cd/narrowescape…

The Moon Ducky Album has only our original music and covers styles from swing and samba to rock and folk. It also explores almost every human emotion from the most serious to the extremely silly.

Jim and I hope you like our album!!  (If you do, we'd appreciate if you leave a nice comment in the comments section of the digital store you choose - thanks!)

This whole CD process has been so beyond stressful every step of the way, but I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel finally.

I'm still waiting on the physical CDs (They're due to be delivered here today and some inventory to the CD baby warehouse at some point this week.)

But... the exciting thing is that the album went live for digital download last night! I find this both thrilling and terrifying honestly...I've already sold a few copies and got some positive feedback though. Only issue is it seems one of the songs isn't compatible to play in all phones. I called CD Baby (the manufacturer and distributer) and they confirmed that their technology isn't compatible with all phones. Ugh. Very frustrating, honestly but at least only one track was affected. And all songs play perfectly well in iPods, on computer, and of course burned to CD.

Anyway, the album is for sale (digital download) at iTunes at: itunes.apple.com/us/album/moon…

at Amazon at: www.amazon.com/Moon-Ducky-Albu…

and of course at CD Baby at: www.cdbaby.com/cd/narrowescape…

I also found it on what I think is a German or Dutch Amazon site! Very cool! (I so wish I could recognize the language here...It looked like German to me but my son said it might also be Dutch...) www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00CK…

Any sales are incredibly appreciated (no pressure of course). If you like it, I would be very grateful for a nice review on any of the sales sites. Hard copy CDs should be available for sale online at CD Baby by the end of the week. In the meantime I'm trying to let go, not place too much importance on the success or failure of this endeavor and to remain firmly in this rainy, gray moment...
